The Inn at Chicoana -
Hostería de Chicoana
Located in the small community of Chicoana,
our 19th century Spanish Colonial style Inn serves as "home base"
for day activities and adventures in the area. It's your home away from
home while exploring the wonders of Northwestern
of Argentina with Martín.
The Building
The Hostería is actually an old Spanish colonial house, converted
to a nine-room inn. Its three-foot thick walls are made of adobe (sun-dried
mud bricks) and it features a full service restaurant, bar and swimming
pool. All nine rooms overlook the swimming pool and have private baths.
The Inn's open corridors and large patio invite you to enjoy a cool beer
in the shade of old avocado trees, gum trees and palm trees.
The Food
Special traditional meals are prepared with organic fruits and vegetables
grown in the Inn's own organic gardens. All meals at the Inn are included
with your adventure package.
The Inn's Restaurant-Bar tempts you with a generous choice of regional
dishes such as "humitas", "tamales", "empanadas",
"mondongo" stews, goat meat, traditional barbacue, rainbow trout,
different cheeses and regional wines plus desserts that will tempt your
pallete - such as soft white cheese with sugar cane syrup or home-made
"cayote" jam (a kind of local pumpkin) with walnuts... and lots
more.
